Legends do well at TUFF Gi CHALLENGE

Legends – Cia Paulista
The first week end of December our team went to the Tuff Gi Challenge. We found our way to Kent in the early hours and were ready to give it our all at this BJJ event.
There were many well known and large teams present but this did not faze our fight team that went to compete.
We are a small, young Team, yet our boys smashed higher ranked and more experienced guys today.
Held our ground and ruled in the guard. We must be doing something right.
Come train with us and become a LEGEND.

I am very proud to announce that today, 20th September 2012, after two years of hard work, I have promoted my good friend and student to blue belt in BJJ. Dean has put a lot of time and effort in his training, and has come a long way. This is just the beginning for him.

Demonstration at Staines market

Last Saturday Legends Mixed Martial Arts Academy carried out a demonstration at Staines market high street. This was to demonstrate our styles, skills and to promote our club to the local people. Our marque was very busy and popular during the whole day thanks to our team members demonstration drills and sparring in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu BJJ and MMA. We had many interest from males, females, young and old wanting to join our classes. It was a warm day, the sun was out and everybody enjoyed themselves.

So far from the demonstration we have gain 5 new members, so it was a great success promotion wise. We hope to see many more new faces at the gym. The more new members there are the better is for every member as this will help the club grow (like getting better equipments) and more sparring partners.

I would like to say thank you to the team members who came down to help out at Staines Market – Josh Daniels, Ollie Dyson, Dean Lawrence and Richard Hart.

We hope to arrange another demonstration soon. Next time it will be bigger and better.

Our lads competed at the Legends FC MMA event on the 7th April 2012 at the Mandolay Hotel. It was an action packed night with fights from Team Tieu, Llyod Heavens Muay Thia (All Stars Gym), ShinKick, Te At Su, EA Doce Pares, Essex BJJ (Ministry of Martial Arts), RHUL MMA and Legends.
Our lads did great at their first every MMA matches in the cage and won.

Andre Daltrey seminar

On Saturday 21st January Legends Mixed Martial Arts academy was honoured to host a former British, European and World Kickboxing champion Andre Daltrey seminar from ARD Training Camp from Aldershot. It was a great 2 hour session emphasising the importance of perfecting the basic technique of boxing to get the winning edge.

Team Legends Brings Back Home Trophies

On 6th November 2011 a Team of Legends Members attended the Annual Martial Arts Tournament in Kent (MAASIF)
We were a hit, winning trophies and showing the competition that we are a team to watch out for.
Our White and Red Belt Kickboxing squad smashed through their weight and age category destroying Black Belts in their way.
Watch out for these young lads (Josh and Moe)

Amateur MMA was a walk through with our boy Tom being moved into the Adult category at the age of 17, showing the adults that age is just a number. He destroyed all in his way and missed out on 1st place by only 1 point.

Ollie, only having trained with us for 3 months, made easy his wins in the Teens Amateur MMA section bringing back a nice trophy.

Well Done To All Who Stepped Up.

Martial Arts All Styles International Federation MAASIF British Open in Kent

Legends Mixed Martial Arts academy team will be attending the Martial Arts All Styles International Federation MAASIF British Open in Kent, Canterbury on Sunday 6th November.

M.A.A.S.I.F BRITISH OPEN event is open to any level and any age of competitor and can cater for many different styles of Martial Arts.

They are expecting another great turn out with competitors and spectators coming from the world of Karate, Kung Fu, Kickboxing, Taekwondo, Tang So Do, Freestyle, Kickboxing, Low Kick Fighting, San-DA, MMA to name a few.

They have over 80 Categories for all types of levels and ages from kids, women, under 1 year, under 2 years training etc..

New Belt Ranking at Legends BJJ

On Saturday 9th July 2011 Miss Ella Wu was awarded her Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Ella has put in a lot of time into her training and it has shown during her taking part in competitions being put against heavier women and giving them a hard time. Well deserved.
